"Bringing
Parents & Schools Together" (Helping
Families from Elementary to College)
Parents:
A seven (7) - session
series of interactive parent educational workshops and
presentations. The program focuses on teaching parents
"best practices" and techniques to help their
children be successful in school. Program goals are to
increase parental involvement in their children's
education, in schools and in the community. Parents will
learn parenting skills, how to motivate their children
to learn at home, promote reading, writing, good study
habits, organization, decision making skills, and how
the school system works.

Cultura Cura" The Culture Cures
|
Celebrating Cultures! A
fun hands-on, eight (8) weekly sessions, multicultural
education program exploring Latin America, Mexico, and
Caribbean Island cultural heritage coming from
Indigenous (Aztec, Maya, Inca), European and African
cultures. Art and Culture are used as resources to
increase academic success. Self-esteem and cultural
pride are increased by connecting and honoring cultural
heritages. The program promotes Reading, Math, Writing,
Social Studies, Music, Dance, and cultural diversity
understanding. Students create a Cultural Mural and
Journal of their cultural experiences. * Parent
participation is welcomed.

Cures.
Parent
Involvement Education Series. An interactive
multicultural parent education program promoting
Reading, Writing, Math, and Social Studies Skills by
teaching families to use their cultural heritage to help
students achieve ACADEMIC SUCCESS. Parents learn "best
practices" on how to teach and motivate children to
learn at home using cultural activities as a resource.
The program focuses on Latin American cultural heritage
(Mexico, the Caribbean Islands and African cultures);
history, geography, art, food, customs, and traditions.
We highlight the importance of parent participation in
their children's education, increasing parental
involvement/volunteers in schools, children’s
self-esteem, cultural pride, and cultural diversity and
understanding. A ONE TIME STAFF DEVELOPMENT
PRESENTATION CAN BE SCHEDULED FOR TEACHERS, COUNSELORS,
PTA MEMBERS, ETC.

"Quinceañera"
(A
Cultural Rite of Passage)
"Quinceañera"/Rites
of Passage - A 4 session cultural education program that
explores the Latin American customs and traditions of
young girls "coming of age" and their
connections with their cultural values. The program
teaches the importance of staying in school, preparing
for college, and becoming responsible young adults. The
program focuses on goal setting, decision making,
leadership skills, self-esteem, and self confidence.
Reading, writing, art, and history are promoted through
cultural education activities. PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS
ARE WELCOMED TO PARTICIPATE.

"CaribbeanRoots”
Cultural
Education Program
Take a journey to the
Caribbean Islands and learn about their rich cultural
heritage. Students will experience hands-on cultural
activities that include art, music, dance, history,
geography, customs, and traditions coming from
Indigenous (Taino), European and African cultures. The
program highlights the discovery of America by Europeans
and the cultural connections with Africa and the USA.
This program can be presented in four (4) weekly
sessions(1.5 hours each) or ONE TIME 2.0 hours session.
