Description:
Take
a journey to the Caribbean Islands and learn about their
rich cultural heritage. Students will experience hands-on
cultural activities that include art, music, dance,
history, geography, customs, and traditions coming from
Indigenous (Taino), European and African cultures. The
program highlights the discovery of America by Europeans
and the cultural connections with Africa and the USA.

Caribbean people (Indigenous, European, & African)
Read
about the Indigenous people (Taino)
Create
Afro-Caribbean masks and make maracas
Learn
history; the discovery of America, European colonization, and
African Cultural Influences
Learn
geography of the Caribbean Islands, learn the names of the
Islands, & draw maps
Learn about the different
Caribbean tropical foods and agriculture
